By Diagnostics World News Staff

January 29, 2020 | The forthcoming Molecular Medicine Tri-Conference and Bio-IT World WEST conference will host the inaugural Bioinformatics Pipelines for Preclinical Drug Discovery Hackathon in San Francisco, March 2-4. The hackathon will bring together stakeholders and researchers from across pharma R&D to tackle datasets and projects in an effort to solve real-world data challenges.

“The Bioinformatics Pipelines for Preclinical Drug Discovery Hackathon brings a unique opportunity for attendees at TRICON and Bio-IT World WEST to do hands-on data science work with projects being provided by academia and industry,” Kaitlyn Barago, Project Manager at Cambridge Healthtech Institute and organizer of the Hackathon, told Diagnostics World News. “This interactive special event allows delegates to hone their coding skills and network with other data scientists while they work on projects with real impact potential.”

The hackathon will include clinically applicable RNA-seq data from Ultragenyx Pharmaceuticals and kidney cancer data from Clemson University, Research to the People, and RareKidneyCancer.org.
